Methodological basis
Linear accrual (mark-to-accrual) — accrued interest is recognized daily as principal × annual_rate × (1 − tax_rate) × days_elapsed / day_count_denominator. Even for bullet-payment deposits (interest paid at maturity), the P&L is booked as it accrues, matching the economic reality reported in fund financials.
Asset class — bank CDs are classified as Fixed Income (not Cash & Equivalents) because early liquidation carries a material interest penalty. This diverges from money-market ETFs (SGOV, BIL) that are redeemable at par with negligible loss risk and belong in Cash & Equivalents per SEC/GAAP.
Yield — the weighted yield displayed is net of withholding tax; gross yield is available in the deposits table.
At the consolidated level, this sleeve contributes a simple P&L / principal figure (accrued_net ÷ principal) as an accrued return proxy, not a true TWR. Bullet-payment CDs have no intermediate marks, so a real TWR is not measurable; the proxy is intentionally conservative vs. an IRR that would annualise the same P&L.
